Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IBI303 is a biosimilar version of adalimumab (Humira) developed by Innovent Biologics, a China-based biopharmaceutical company. It is a recombinant human anti-TNF-α monoclonal antibody that works by binding to tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and inhibiting its interaction with cell surface TNF receptors. This mechanism helps reduce inflammation in autoimmune diseases. IBI303 has shown therapeutic equivalence to reference adalimumab in terms of efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity in phase 3 clinical trials for ankylosing spondylitis. It was approved in China in September 2020, providing a more affordable alternative to the original adalimumab product.
