IBI3032

IBI3032 is an orally administered small-molecule agonist of the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), developed by Innovent Biologics. Discovered through structure-based drug design, IBI3032 is characterized by its bias for the cAMP signaling pathway, which allows for efficient and selective activation of downstream signal transduction. This mechanism promotes insulin secretion, delays gastric emptying, and inhibits appetite, making it a candidate for the treatment of metabolic disorders such as obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Preclinical studies in animal models, including obese monkeys, have demonstrated high oral exposure and significant therapeutic efficacy at lower doses compared to other candidates. The drug has received Investigational New Drug (IND) approval from both the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with Phase 1 clinical trials planned for initiation in the second half of 2025.
