Overview

IBI3035 is an investigational, long-acting triple agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R), glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and glucagon receptor (GCGR). Developed by Innovent Biologics, it is designed for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. By simultaneously activating these three pathways, IBI3035 aims to provide superior glycemic control and weight loss compared to dual agonists or single GLP-1R agonists. The triple agonism approach leverages the insulinotropic and appetite-suppressing effects of GLP-1 and GIP, alongside the energy expenditure-increasing effects of glucagon. As of early 2024, IBI3035 is in Phase 1 clinical development in China.
