Overview

IBI311 is a recombinant, fully human monoclonal antibody that targets the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R). Developed by Innovent Biologics, it is designed for the treatment of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO), also known as Graves' ophthalmopathy. The drug works by blocking the binding of IGF-1 and IGF-2 to the IGF-1R, thereby inhibiting the activation of downstream signaling pathways that lead to inflammation, orbital fibroblast proliferation, and the accumulation of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronic acid. This mechanism helps to reduce disease activity and improve clinical symptoms, including proptosis (eye bulging), diplopia, and ocular edema. IBI311 has demonstrated significant efficacy in Phase 3 clinical trials and is currently under regulatory review in China.
