Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IBIO-201 is a subunit vaccine candidate for COVID-19 developed by iBio in collaboration with the Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI). The vaccine utilizes a SARS-CoV-2 spike protein antigen produced via iBio's plant-based FastPharming system, combined with the proprietary LicKM booster technology. LicKM (Lichenase-K-M) is a carrier protein designed to enhance the immune response to the antigen. The program was supported by IBM Watson Health's Clinical Development system to accelerate clinical trials and regulatory submissions. Preclinical studies were conducted to establish the vaccine's immunogenicity and manufacturing readiness.
