Overview

IBIO-400 is an adjuvanted, plant-made (FastPharming® System) subunit vaccine candidate targeting Classical Swine Fever (CSF), a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease affecting pigs. It is based on the E2 glycoprotein antigen of the CSF virus, formulated in cost-effective oil-in-water emulsion adjuvants. Preclinical studies have shown that a single dose of IBIO-400 provides complete protection in challenged pigs, accompanied by strong virus-neutralizing antibody responses. The vaccine is designed to be DIVA-capable (Differentiating Infected from Vaccinated Animals), which is a significant advantage over currently available vaccines that do not allow this differentiation. IBIO-400 is being developed as a potential alternative to existing CSF vaccines, which are not approved for use in the U.S. and do not offer DIVA capability[2].
