Ibizol

**Ibizol** is an oral fixed-dose combination of **ibuprofen** and **thiocolchicoside** marketed by Megat in Ecuador for short-term treatment of mild-to-moderate painful musculoskeletal conditions associated with skeletal-muscle contracture or spasm. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that reversibly and nonselectively inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, reducing prostaglandin production and thereby relieving pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that interacts with gamma-aminobutyric acid type A and strychnine-sensitive glycine receptors. Marketed coated-tablet presentations include ibuprofen 400 mg plus thiocolchicoside 4 mg and ibuprofen 600 mg plus thiocolchicoside 4 mg.
