Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IBN-1 is an experimental **imidazolium-based compound** that has been described in the literature as a metal-free imidazolium salt and, in a separate materials context, as a main-chain imidazolium oligomer. Preclinical reports indicate antitumor activity in **hepatocellular carcinoma**, where IBN-1 inhibited proliferation, induced **G1-phase cell-cycle arrest**, and was associated with suppression of **survivin** and **cyclin-dependent kinases**. It has also been reported as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial imidazolium material active against multiple drug-resistant pathogens. The available evidence appears limited to early preclinical research, with no clear evidence of clinical development, regulatory approval, or established commercial manufacturing.
