Overview

IBOB001 is an oral live biotherapeutic product (LBP) consisting of intestinal microbial functional bacteria. It is being developed by Anhui Provincial Hospital for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The therapy is designed to modulate the gut microbiota to improve metabolic parameters and glycemic control. In clinical research, IBOB001 is evaluated as an add-on therapy to metformin in adult patients whose blood glucose is inadequately controlled by metformin monotherapy, with primary endpoints focusing on changes in HbA1c and blood glucose levels over a 6-month treatment period.
