Overview

IBP-1118 is a small molecule dipeptide consisting of arginine and glutamine (Arg-Gln) being developed by Infant Bacterial Therapeutics (IBT) for the prevention of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). ROP is a leading cause of blindness in premature infants, characterized by abnormal retinal vascularization. Developed in collaboration with researchers from the University of Florida, IBP-1118 aims to promote healthy retinal development and prevent pathological neovascularization. The drug candidate is intended for enteral administration and has been granted Orphan Drug Designation by the FDA for this indication.
