IBRX-042 is a therapeutic vaccine candidate developed for the treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated tumors, including cancers caused by HPV infection[1][2][4]. It is based on a human adenovirus serotype 5 (hAd5) vector that encodes modified HPV16 E6 and E7 tumor-associated proteins, which are essential for the transformation and maintenance of malignant cells in HPV-driven cancers[2][4][5]. The vaccine aims to stimulate an immune response against these viral antigens, thereby targeting and eliminating cancerous cells expressing them[4][5]. Preclinical studies have shown that IBRX-042 can induce significant anti-tumor effects in vivo in HPV-positive mouse models by generating immune responses against the encoded antigens[5]. The drug is currently being evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials to determine its safety, maximum tolerated dose, and immunogenicity in patients with recurrent or progressive HPV-associated tumors who have previously received standard treatments[1][3][4].
