Overview

CPB2101 is an orally administered, non-narcotic analgesic combination drug developed by Corepharmbio. It consists of a fixed-dose combination of ibuprofen, a propionic acid derivative and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and acetaminophen (paracetamol), a non-aspirin analgesic and antipyretic. The combination is designed to provide enhanced pain relief through the complementary mechanisms of its components: ibuprofen inhibits peripheral prostaglandin synthesis via cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) inhibition, while acetaminophen is thought to act primarily through central nervous system pathways. Corepharmbio utilizes its proprietary formulation technology to optimize the release and efficacy of the two active ingredients. CPB2101 has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials in South Korea for the management of acute pain, specifically post-operative pain.
