Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Borofem Plus is a marketed generic combination drug developed and manufactured by Modi Lifecare Industries Limited. It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and paracetamol (acetaminophen), an analgesic and antipyretic. Ibuprofen works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins that mediate pain, fever, and inflammation. Paracetamol acts primarily in the central nervous system to reduce pain and fever, though its exact molecular mechanism is distinct from traditional NSAIDs. Borofem Plus is indicated for the symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain, including musculoskeletal pain, headache, dental pain, and primary dysmenorrhea, as well as for the management of febrile conditions.
