IC 800

IC 800 is a topical ocular analgesic in development by IACTA Pharmaceuticals that acts as a novel non-opioid dual enkephalinase inhibitor (DENKI) for the treatment of acute and chronic eye pain, particularly post‑surgical pain such as after cataract surgery and pain associated with dry eye.[1][2] By inhibiting enkephalin-degrading enzymes, the drug is designed to increase local concentrations of endogenous enkephalins in ocular tissues, thereby harnessing the body’s own opioid peptides to provide analgesic and anti‑inflammatory effects without the systemic risks and abuse potential of traditional opioids.[1][2] Preclinical ocular studies have shown IC 800 to be effective, safe, and well tolerated in animal models, and it is being advanced through formulation development into single‑use topical eye-drop presentations with an IND-enabling plan for Phase 1 and Phase 2 trials in dry eye and ocular pain indications.[1][2]
