Overview

**IC2000** is a branded formulation of indocyanine green (ICG), a sterile, water-soluble tricarbocyanine dye used as a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent imaging agent. It exhibits peak spectral absorption at 800-810 nm in blood plasma and fluoresces when excited by NIR light, enabling real-time intraoperative visualization of lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, blood flow, and tissue perfusion when used with compatible imaging systems like SPY-PHI or PINPOINT. Administered via intradermal or intravenous injection, it binds highly (98%) to plasma proteins, remains confined to intravascular and lymphatic compartments, undergoes no metabolism, and is rapidly cleared by hepatic uptake and biliary excretion (half-life ~3-4 minutes). Originally developed by Novadaq Technologies (now part of Stryker), it supports lymphatic mapping and sentinel lymph node biopsy in early-stage breast cancer, with applications in various surgical procedures; it has no pharmacological therapeutic effect but aids diagnostic imaging.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
