IC43

IC43 is a recombinant fusion protein vaccine developed for the prevention of infections caused by *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, particularly in hospital-acquired (nosocomial) settings. The vaccine consists of epitopes from the outer membrane proteins OprF and OprI of *P. aeruginosa*, designed to induce an immune response against this opportunistic pathogen[1][3][4]. Clinical studies have shown that IC43 achieves high immunogenicity, with most subjects developing significant antibody titers against the target antigens; however, it did not demonstrate a reduction in overall mortality compared to placebo in critically ill patients[2][7]. The drug was primarily developed by Valneva (formerly Intercell)[1].
