Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IC7Fc is a designer chimeric cytokine and gp130 receptor agonist engineered to selectively activate regenerative and metabolic signaling pathways while avoiding the pro-inflammatory effects associated with interleukin-6 (IL-6) trans-signaling. It was constructed by replacing one gp130-binding site of IL-6 with the leukemia inhibitory factor receptor (LIFR)-binding site from ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) and fusing it with the Fc domain of immunoglobulin G (IgG). IC7Fc promotes hepatocyte survival, tissue repair, and liver regeneration via the IL-22-STAT3 pathway, and has demonstrated therapeutic potential in preclinical models of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD), type 2 diabetes, obesity, muscle atrophy, and atherosclerosis.
