IC84 is a recombinant protein vaccine candidate developed to prevent disease caused by *Clostridium difficile*. The vaccine consists of two truncated toxins, A and B, from *C. difficile*. These toxins are known to be responsible for disease pathology, and immunity against them can provide protection. IC84 was tested in a Phase I clinical trial with or without the adjuvant aluminum hydroxide to assess its safety and immunogenicity. The developer of this vaccine candidate is Intercell AG.
