Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ICA02 is an allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" cell therapy candidate developed by Aikailiyuan Biotechnology (also known as Icamuno Bio). It consists of mesenchymal stem cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iMSCs) using the company's proprietary iCam-iPSC platform. By utilizing iPSC technology, ICA02 aims to overcome the limitations associated with primary donor-derived MSCs, such as limited expansion capacity, cellular senescence, and significant batch-to-batch variability. The therapy is designed to leverage the natural immunomodulatory and regenerative properties of mesenchymal stem cells to treat a variety of conditions, including inflammatory diseases and degenerative disorders. The use of an iPSC-based platform allows for the large-scale, standardized production of therapeutic cells that can be genetically modified if necessary to enhance their clinical profile.
