ICAIT DC Vaccine (Pancreatic Cancer) is an autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy developed by ImmunoRestoration for the treatment of HER-2-expressing pancreatic cancer. Utilizing the company's proprietary ICAIT™ (Immune Cell Activation and Immunotherapy Technology) platform, the vaccine is composed of a patient's own dendritic cells that have been harvested, activated, and pulsed with HER-2 (Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2) antigens. The mechanism of action involves the presentation of these HER-2 antigens to the patient's T-cells, thereby priming and eliciting a targeted adaptive immune response against tumor cells that overexpress the HER-2 protein. The candidate was positioned to transition from preclinical development into Phase 1 clinical trials in late 2019.
