ICAM3 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and silence the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule 3 (ICAM3, also known as CD50). ICAM3 is an inflammation-related cell adhesion molecule that has been implicated in maintaining cancer stem cell (CSC) stemness, promoting cell migration, and mediating chemoresistance in various malignant tumors, including breast and lung cancers. In preclinical research, knockdown of ICAM3 using siRNA has been shown to inhibit sphere formation, decrease the aldehyde dehydrogenase-positive (ALDH+) subpopulation, reduce side populations, and suppress tumor growth and metastasis in vivo. ICAM3 siRNA is primarily utilized as a research reagent to investigate the role of ICAM3 and its downstream signaling pathways, such as the Src/PI3K/Akt cascade, in tumor progression and stemness.
