ICE 1201

ICE 1201 is a nanoformulated version of the muscle relaxant metaxalone, developed by iCeutica using its proprietary SoluMatrix Fine Particle Technology. By reducing the drug's particle size to submicron levels, the formulation enhances dissolution and absorption, potentially allowing for lower dosages and reduced food-effect variability compared to the reference product, Skelaxin (800 mg metaxalone). It is intended for the treatment of acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. While metaxalone's exact molecular mechanism of action is not fully established, it is believed to cause general central nervous system depression rather than direct skeletal muscle relaxation.
