Overview

iCELL-IA is a cell therapy product developed by iCELL Biotechnology that utilizes human amniotic epithelial stem cells (hAESCs) for the treatment of intrauterine adhesions (IUA), also known as Asherman's syndrome. hAESCs are derived from the amniotic membrane and are characterized by their low immunogenicity, immunomodulatory properties, and high proliferative potential. The therapy aims to promote endometrial regeneration and restore uterine function by reducing fibrosis through the regulation of markers such as Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), enhancing angiogenesis, and providing paracrine support to the endometrial microenvironment. iCELL-IA is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development, with studies focusing on its safety and efficacy in patients with refractory severe intrauterine adhesions.
