iCELL-OA is an adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell (Adipose MSC) therapy developed by iCELL Biotechnology for the treatment of osteoarthritis. Adipose-derived MSCs are multipotent cells harvested from fat tissue that possess significant immunomodulatory and regenerative potential. When administered to the osteoarthritic joint, these cells are intended to reduce synovial inflammation and promote the repair of damaged articular cartilage by secreting various cytokines and growth factors (paracrine signaling) and potentially differentiating into chondrocytes. The therapy is currently in the preclinical stage of development, focusing on alleviating joint pain and slowing disease progression.
