iCELL-POF is an investigational cell therapy developed by iCELL Biotechnology for the treatment of Premature Ovarian Failure (POF). The therapy utilizes Human Amniotic Epithelial Stem Cells (hAESCs), which are harvested from the inner layer of the human placenta. These cells are characterized by their low immunogenicity, lack of telomerase (reducing tumorigenic risk), and ability to secrete a wide array of bioactive factors. In the context of POF, iCELL-POF is intended to migrate to damaged ovarian tissue and exert therapeutic effects through paracrine signaling, immunomodulation, and the promotion of tissue repair. The goal of the therapy is to restore ovarian endocrine function and improve follicular development in patients with diminished ovarian reserve or premature menopause. It is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development.
