ICG186 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein predominantly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. Developed by the Department of Hematology at The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University, ICG186 is being investigated for the treatment of various relapsed or refractory malignant plasmacyte diseases, including multiple myeloma, plasma cell leukemia, and primary amyloidosis. The therapeutic process involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR construct specific for BCMA, which, upon re-infusion, enables the T cells to recognize and eliminate BCMA-expressing tumor cells. In clinical studies, ICG186 is often evaluated alongside multi-targeted CAR-T constructs such as ICG180 (BCMA/CS1) and ICG181 (BCMA/CD19) to compare efficacy and safety profiles in plasma cell malignancies.
