Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ichybum is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical cream developed by Dermoscribe for the treatment of pruritus ani (chronic anal itching) and other perianal conditions. The formulation contains three active ingredients: 1% hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid that acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching; 1% clioquinol, which provides broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal activity; and zinc oxide, which acts as a skin protectant. This combination is designed to address the multi-factorial nature of chronic anal itching, which often involves an inflammatory component and secondary microbial involvement. Ichybum is also indicated for the symptomatic relief of hemorrhoids and athlete's foot (tinea pedis).
