Drug intelligence / Profile preview
iCM012 is a modified polymer-based biologic developed by iCoat Medical AB to prevent ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) during organ transplantation. It utilizes a proprietary coating technology that allows the polymer to integrate into cell membranes, creating a protective barrier. This barrier prevents the binding of plasma proteins and the activation of the innate immune system (specifically the complement and coagulation systems) against ischemic cells. Its primary application is currently in kidney transplantation, specifically for recipients of donation after circulatory death (DCD) kidneys, to reduce the incidence of delayed graft function (DGF).
