Icon Infiltrant is a low-viscosity, light-curable resin designed for the micro-invasive treatment of non-cavitated dental enamel lesions (white spot lesions and incipient caries) on both smooth and proximal tooth surfaces. The product works by infiltrating demineralized enamel with a hydrophobic methacrylate-based resin that penetrates the porous lesion body. Once polymerized via light curing, it forms a diffusion barrier that arrests further progression of early carious lesions and improves esthetics by masking white spots due to its refractive index being close to sound enamel. It is indicated for use in treating early caries up to the first third of dentin (D1), as well as for esthetic improvement in cases such as mild fluorosis or post-orthodontic white spots. The product does not require drilling or removal of healthy tooth structure and is considered an alternative to traditional restorative approaches[1][2][3][5][6][7].
