ICR62

**ICR62** is a rat monoclonal antibody targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (**EGFR**), specifically developed to block the binding of EGF, transforming growth factor-alpha, and heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor to EGFR. It acts as an EGFR antagonist, inhibiting the growth of tumour cell lines that overexpress EGFR, and demonstrated eradication of such tumours in xenograft mouse models. ICR62 was evaluated in a phase I clinical trial for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck and lung, showing tumour cell membrane localisation and safety at doses up to 100mg in humans. The antibody originator is The Institute of Cancer Research, and it reached only phase 1 clinical testing before discontinuation[1][2][3][4][5].
