Overview

ICS-001 is an injectable cell scaffold (ICS) designed to enhance cell-based angiogenic therapy for chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). It consists of bioabsorbable polymer microspheres coated with hydroxyapatite nanocrystals. Designed for intramuscular injection, ICS-001 is used in combination with autologous peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNCs), specifically CD34-rich cells mobilized by G-CSF and CXCR4 inhibitors. The scaffold functions by providing a supportive physical microenvironment that improves the local retention and therapeutic function of transplanted cells, thereby promoting angiogenesis. It is currently being evaluated in investigator-initiated exploratory clinical trials and is developed within a medical device regulatory framework.
