ICT-107 is an autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine developed for the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer. The therapy consists of a patient's own dendritic cells, which are pulsed with six synthetic peptides corresponding to tumor-associated antigens commonly found on glioblastoma cells—specifically AIM-2, MAGE-1, TRP-2, gp100, HER2 (epidermal growth factor receptor 2), and IL13Rα2. When these antigen-loaded dendritic cells are reintroduced into the patient, they stimulate cytotoxic T-cell responses targeting GBM tumor cells expressing these antigens. ICT-107 was granted orphan drug status by both the FDA and EMA for glioblastoma but has not achieved regulatory approval due to lack of statistically significant overall survival benefit in clinical trials[1][3][4][8].
