Overview

ICT-140 is a patient-specific, multivalent dendritic cell-based vaccine designed for the treatment of ovarian cancer. It works by stimulating cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses against seven tumor-associated antigens that are over-expressed in ovarian cancer cells, including antigens such as EphA2, mesothelin, Her-2/neu, IL-13Rα2, and others. The underlying strategy is to induce the immune system to recognize and destroy both ovarian cancer stem cells and differentiated cancer cells. ICT-140 was developed by ImmunoCellular Therapeutics and was in preclinical or early clinical development as of late 2024. The product is classified as a cancer vaccine and specifically as a dendritic cell vaccine[1][3][5][7][9][12][15].
