Overview

ICVAX is a therapeutic HIV DNA vaccine developed using Immuno Cure's patented PD-1-Enhanced DNA Vaccine platform. The vaccine is designed to induce broadly reactive, polyfunctional viral-specific T cells, aiming to achieve sustained virological control of HIV-1 in the absence of antiretroviral therapy (ART), with the ultimate goal of achieving a functional cure for HIV/AIDS. The mechanism leverages soluble PD-1-linked antigen targeting to dendritic cells, enhancing host immune responses—especially CD8+ T-cell activity—to eliminate HIV-infected cells. Developed by Immuno Cure BioTech in collaboration with the HKU-AIDS Institute, ICVAX has completed Phase 1 clinical trials demonstrating exceptional safety and promising immunogenicity profiles in stable HIV patients under ART[2][3][4][5][6][8]. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly followed by electroporation.
