ICX-TRC

ICX-TRC is an autologous cell therapy developed for the treatment of hair loss and hair regeneration. The product is composed of dermal papilla (DP) cells, which are harvested from a small number of the patient's own hair follicles, expanded in vitro using a proprietary cell culture process, and then reinjected into the scalp. The therapeutic mechanism relies on the ability of these expanded DP cells to induce the formation of new hair follicles or to rejuvenate existing miniaturized follicles by signaling to the surrounding epithelial cells. Developed by the UK-based regenerative medicine company Intercytex, ICX-TRC reached Phase II clinical trials; however, development was discontinued following disappointing trial results and the company's subsequent financial difficulties.
