Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ID110521156 is an orally available small molecule glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist being developed by Yunovia/Ildong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Unlike peptide-based GLP-1 agonists, ID110521156 is designed for oral administration, offering improved manufacturability, stability, and patient convenience. The drug acts by directly binding to the GLP-1 receptor, increasing intracellular cAMP levels via Gα subunit activation. This leads to enhanced insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner, reduced blood glucose levels, appetite suppression, delayed gastric emptying, and weight loss. Preclinical studies have shown that ID110521156 has a favorable safety profile with no observed genotoxicity or significant adverse effects in nonhuman primates at doses much higher than those required for efficacy. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials following successful completion of single ascending dose studies demonstrating good tolerability and pharmacokinetics.
