The ID8 cell lysate vaccine is an experimental cancer vaccine utilized in preclinical research for ovarian cancer, primarily using the ID8 murine ovarian cancer cell line. The vaccine consists of a whole tumor cell lysate derived from ID8 cells, which provides a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) to stimulate both CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses. Various formulations have been explored, including pulsing dendritic cells with the lysate or encapsulating the lysate in enteric-coated microparticles for oral delivery. These formulations often incorporate adjuvants such as IL-2, IL-12, or oxidizing agents like hypochlorous acid to enhance immunogenicity. Research indicates that the vaccine can retard tumor growth and improve survival in mouse models by eliciting both humoral and cellular immune responses.
