Overview

Idacio is a biosimilar of adalimumab, a recombinant human monoclonal antibody that targets and binds to tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), a pro-inflammatory cytokine. By inhibiting TNF-α, Idacio reduces inflammation and modulates immune responses in autoimmune diseases. It is used to treat several chronic inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, plaque psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, and non-infectious uveitis. Idacio is administered as a subcutaneous injection and can be used alone or in combination with other disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). It was developed as a biosimilar to Humira (adalimumab) and demonstrates similar efficacy and safety profiles[1][2][3][4][5][6].
