Overview

IDC2405 is a monoclonal antibody biosimilar candidate developed by Prestige Biopharma (PBK) that targets the Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2). It is designed as a biosimilar to pertuzumab (Perjeta), a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody. IDC2405 works by binding to the extracellular dimerization domain (Subdomain II) of the HER2 receptor, which sterically hinders HER2 from forming heterodimers with other members of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family, including HER1 (EGFR), HER3, and HER4. This blockade inhibits the activation of downstream oncogenic signaling pathways, such as the PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways, which are critical for tumor cell proliferation and survival in HER2-overexpressing cancers. IDC2405 is primarily being developed for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
