Overview
IDEA-070 is a topical formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ketoprofen, utilizing IDEA AG's proprietary Transfersome delivery technology. Transfersomes are highly deformable lipid vesicles designed to bypass the skin's stratum corneum barrier, allowing for deeper penetration of the active ingredient into the dermis and underlying tissues. IDEA-070 was specifically developed to manage the acute pain and inflammation that occurs during and after photodynamic therapy (PDT) for actinic keratosis. By inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), ketoprofen reduces the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins at the site of treatment.
