Idiotype-pulsed allogeneic dendritic cells are a form of cell-based cancer immunotherapy in which donor-derived (allogeneic) dendritic cells are loaded ex vivo with an autologous tumor-specific immunoglobulin (idiotype) protein. This vaccine is designed to stimulate the patient's immune system to recognize and attack malignant B-cells expressing the same idiotype, particularly in diseases such as multiple myeloma and B-cell lymphomas. The mechanism involves presenting tumor-specific antigens via major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on the surface of activated dendritic cells, thereby priming T-cell responses against the cancer. Clinical studies have shown that this approach is safe and can induce immune responses; however, clinical efficacy has been limited and further optimization is needed[1][2][3][4][5][9].
