Idiotype-specific vaccine is an advanced cancer vaccine designed to induce an immune response against a unique tumor-specific antigen known as the idiotype, which is present on the immunoglobulin molecules expressed by malignant B-cells[1][3][4][6]. This vaccine is typically produced individually for each patient, utilizing either hybridoma technology or recombinant genetic techniques to produce the patient's tumor-specific immunoglobulin variable domain, which carries the unique idiotype[1][4][6]. The idiotype protein is then conjugated to an immunogenic carrier, such as keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), and administered with an adjuvant like granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) to enhance immunogenicity[1][4][6].
