Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ido-C is an over-the-counter (OTC) vitamin C supplement developed and marketed by Circius Pharma. It is formulated as orange-flavored chewable tablets, each containing 0.5 g of vitamin C provided as a combination of ascorbic acid (200 mg) and sodium ascorbate (338 mg). The supplement is indicated for the treatment and prevention of vitamin C deficiency, which can occur due to factors such as impaired intestinal absorption. Vitamin C serves as a critical antioxidant, protecting cells by trapping free radicals, and is essential for metabolic functions and the enhancement of iron absorption from food. Circius Pharma, a Swedish pharmaceutical company, acquired the product following its divestment from ABIGO Medical's pharmaceutical division in 2021.
