Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Idomarine is a patented iodine polymer complex developed by MTI Medical for the management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), infertility, and related hormonal disorders. It is designed to modulate the thyroid-ovarian axis and interacts with the sodium-iodide symporter (NIS), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), and estrogen receptors. By addressing subclinical hypothyroidism and hormonal imbalances, Idomarine aims to restore ovulatory function and treat conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibrocystic breast disease, hormonal acne, and hirsutism. It is approved by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and is marketed as a nutraceutical solution for endocrine regulation.
