Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IDOV-2 (formerly known as IDOV-Immune) is an intravenously deliverable oncolytic virus (OV) being developed by ViroMissile, Inc. for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It belongs to the company's proprietary IDOV™ (Intravenously Deliverable Oncolytic Virus) platform, which utilizes an engineered vaccinia virus strain designed to produce a high proportion of extracellular enveloped virions (EEVs). This modification allows the virus to evade systemic immune clearance and effectively target tumors via intravenous administration. Once inside the tumor, IDOV-2 replicates selectively in cancer cells, causing direct oncolysis and turning the tumor into an anti-tumor 'drug factory' that delivers cytokines, chemokines, or other therapeutic proteins to stimulate local and systemic immune responses. IDOV-2 is currently being evaluated in a first-in-human Phase I clinical trial (NCT06910657) in patients with advanced solid tumors.
