Overview

IDP-023 is an investigational, off-the-shelf, allogeneic cell therapy composed of a rare subset of natural killer (NK) cells known as "g minus" NK cells or g-NK cells. These g-NK cells are derived from healthy donors and arise due to epigenetic changes following exposure to cytomegalovirus (CMV). Unlike conventional NK cells, g-NK cells lack the FcεR1γ protein and exhibit enhanced cytolytic activity, releasing more immune activating cytokines and cell-killing compounds. The mechanism of action includes robust antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC), targeting HLA-E expressing autoreactive T and B cells via the NKG2C receptor, and inherent antiviral activity. IDP-023 is being developed by Indapta Therapeutics for use in combination with monoclonal antibodies such as ocrelizumab for progressive multiple sclerosis (MS), as well as in hematologic cancers like non-Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma[1][3][4][5][6][7][8].
