IDP-73152

IDP-73152 is a novel small molecule antibacterial agent that acts as a peptide deformylase inhibitor. It is an aminopiperidine derivative developed for the treatment of complicated skin and respiratory tract infections, including those caused by Gram-positive bacteria such as *Streptococcus pyogenes* and *Staphylococcus aureus*. The drug demonstrates *in vitro* activity comparable to linezolid and vancomycin, with efficacy against penicillin-resistant *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, vancomycin-resistant *Enterococcus faecium*, and methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus*. Clinical studies have shown that IDP-73152 is well tolerated in healthy volunteers after single oral doses up to 1280 mg, with only mild adverse events reported.
