IDP-MITF is a first-in-class peptidomimetic small molecule developed by IDP Pharma that targets the Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF). MITF is a lineage-specific transcription factor that acts as a master regulator for melanocyte development, survival, and proliferation, and it is frequently deregulated in melanoma. The drug utilizes IDP Pharma's proprietary technology to target the intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) of the MITF protein, which are typically considered "undruggable" by conventional small molecules. By interfering with MITF's protein-protein interactions or DNA binding, IDP-MITF aims to suppress the oncogenic signaling pathways driving melanoma progression and potentially other dermatological disorders.
