Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IDX19368 is a next-generation guanosine-based nucleotide prodrug and **NS5B polymerase inhibitor** developed by Idenix Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of **hepatitis C virus (HCV)** infection. It demonstrated strong potency in preclinical studies against HCV but never advanced to human clinical trials due to an FDA-imposed clinical hold in August 2012 related to cardiac adverse events observed with related compounds, followed by voluntary discontinuation of the program in February 2013.[1][2][5][10][11]
