Overview

Ieramilimab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets lymphocyte activation gene 3 (LAG-3), an immune checkpoint receptor expressed on T cells. By binding to LAG-3 and blocking its interaction with MHC class II molecules and FGL1, ieramilimab inhibits the negative regulation of T-cell activation. This mechanism enhances anti-tumor immune responses by promoting T-cell activity against cancer cells. Ieramilimab has been investigated as monotherapy and in combination with spartalizumab (an anti-PD-1 antibody) for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and hematologic malignancies such as diffuse large B cell lymphoma, malignant melanoma, triple-negative breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), renal cell carcinoma (RCC), mesothelioma, and other solid tumors. The drug was developed by Novartis in collaboration with Immutep Limited[1][2][5][6][7][8].
